a good many have gone at the stock mufflers- and there are posts.
I would try to sway you away from this as random exhaust mods will give random results-
the exhaust as a system is ( or should be ) designed to retain high exhaust gas velocity- managing what happens to the exhaust can make a huge difference in power- not only how much power is produced, but at which rpms power is gained...or lost

I would suggest that if you still have the stock header that you get one with the catalytic converter removed- this will remove the bottleneck to flow in the exhaust system.
ebay, about $150 US
some riders are happy with the stock mufflers once the cat is gone.
There are also tutorials here on the forums to do this- can you or a buddy weld?

this will give a better, more predictable performance result- for this change you will likely to to alter the mixture slightly

nightrider.com xieds/vieds will do it at low cost

say hi to Jumbo for me!

there are many considerations- if you are stuck on a TD's ( which I never suggest), you'd do best with a comprehensive system- at least that way if you are struggling to tune the bike the vendor will have a known quantity to deal with.
fullsac does a kit which is cost effective

TD's seem to be for those whose priority is conception of a "sound" they are looking for

those looking for power use a 2/1 for a torquey bike, and makes sense for a Decker- but you live in flat land, you'll not be carving canyons or cresting mountains every day- or charging through city traffic

a 2/1/2 will give better power result thru the rpm range

my suggestions will always fall on the conservative side- reliability ...and cheep!

I know just changing the exaust not a big retune required. Neighbour de catted and used his stock gutted ones for a while. But loud as crap. Its a street glide so no biggy.
He never retuned. The cat should keep the back pressure. Its more if its going to sound tinnie. Going with a set of duels and Cobra tourers next yr. So no tune required.

you will get a little more sound from the stock mufflers if you get rid of the catalytic converter

+1. That "a little more sound" is very noticeable. If you truly are looking for just a little more sound, that is a very good way to go.... plus adjusting the fuel/air mixture.
