Accepting this just because the bike is massed produced is pure crap. It's poor construction technique and poor quality control plain and simple. There is no excuse.
When you spend $20Gs for a bike, you should not just have to accept poor workmanship. If this is a common issue, it's more than a QC issue, it's a design flaw. Have you been to the plants to see them put these things together? Pretty meticulous efficient operation with a lot of QC checks in place. I think it's more than QC.

I haven't noticed anything on mine seems to be straight. But the thing that drives me nuts is the gap between the inner and outer is not the same, the right side has a larger gap. Tried to fix it, but couldn't do anything with it. I'm just living with it for now.

Mine was the same way. It drove me nuts so I adjusted it so that when sitting on the bike and the bars are straight, the fairing also looks straight, but it's give and take. The right side of the fairing is closer to the tank than the left but not noticeable unless you look for it. I've gone to 3 dealers and sat on 10 different RG''s and the fairings were all crooked! There is a write up on the RG forum on how to adjust it. Not hard but not perfect either. Like someone else mentioned, the front plate behind the headlight that the fairing mounts to is crooked.

It's even more noticeable when using the crash bar mounted wind deflectors!
