You guys need to remember insurance costs different in different states. I bet my homeowners is quadruple yours also. TX = border state = high insurance
It all boils down to your zip code and how much the particular Ins.Co. your shopping has had to pay out in claims in that zip code area.Gieco doubled my rate when I moved 15 miles into a different zip code.I shopped around untill I found a company who was lower for that zip code area.
I am paying $750 a year thru Geico in Dallas for my 07 SG. I checked around and Dairyland was about $70 cheaper a year but I did not want to go thru the hastle or changing for $70. Im 37 and have a clean record, been riding bikes for 20 years and still have to pay these crazy premiums. My 99 FXSTC only cost me $315 a year so it was a shock when I picked up the 07.[]
I currently have State Farm. I've had my cars and home insured with them for 20 years. I shopped Gieco and Progressive just out of curiosity. Here is the breakdown:
I also have had State farm for 20 years + and currently have and have had great driving record (spotless) and State farm in North Carolina doesn't want my business. I currently have homeowners, multi-policy for auto, multi-policy for life for wife, child, & I and have max out on insurance discounts and each year I ask to see if they have a better rate and they don't. I price every year with State Farm. Prefer to keep all my insurances in one office, one agent. But too much difference in premium for $460.00 from Geico price of same coverage. Wish I could get a quote like Todd T above on post #35.
Insurance quotes for a 2003 Harley Road King Classic FLHRCI Anniversary in Charlotte, North Carolina.
State farm $910.00
Progressive $875.00
Geico $450.00
GMAC$645.00
I originally got a rate of $345.00 from Geico but I wanted comparable coverage of what I had with GMAC. All of the quotes above are with the same coverages that I had with GMAC last year. State farm didn't recognize Motorcycle Safety Foundation 10% Life Discount. All others did. I prefer State farm for all of my other insurances and But will stay with Geico for now or now on. A $195.00 difference from GMAC to Geico, it was worth the change for me here in Charlotte, NC (Was told by the Geico Agent that this was highest premium rate of coverage due to living inthe City of Charlotte in Mecklenburg Countyinstead of any where else in North Carolina).
to revive a thread here doing some shopping for motorcycle ins.Current foremost wants 449 a year.progressive is 381 geico is 326 bit of coverage differnce and markel is outrageous just got there qoate of 527. anyways guess my question is how is progressive treating the ones that have it and also is there sunny day ride included for the winter months. thanks
