2007 Ultra Heat.
He called Harley tech and there is nothing they will do. The Harley tech, off the record ,did recommend removing the lowers for the summer. With the lowers on the bike, the engine gets plenty of air across it to keep the temperature down, but they restrict air flow to the rider and passanger, duh.
The service manager, for the money, doesn't recommend a SERT, stage 1 download or an oil cooler. He felt anything Harley had to offer in fuel management, in his mind, was still too lean. PCIII is what heis recommending. Whether he puts it on or I put it on, didn't matter. Warranty, he will still honor it, unless the aftermarket part clearly caused the problem, a lean condition. My concern on this is, I feel comfortable with his word, but what happens when I'm half way across the country and I breakdown, will that dealer void my warranty?
I think we are entering new ground, before we could go with all Harley parts to improve the performance of our bikes, and the dealers played along, which if your warranty was a concern all Harley parts was the least risky choice. Now the Harley options in most cases won't do and aftermarket becomes the choice, some dealers are ok with this and others won't be.
Oh yeah, advice on best place to buy a PCIII?
I got a call fromthe service manager, 2007 Ultra's can run between 236 to 292 degrees front head temperature and be within spec.My Ultrafalls into that range after a "14 mile" test ride, it came in at 267 on an 80 degree day.

It's called an air-cooled bike.....they run HOT. If you wanted something that wouldn't roast you or your passenger nearly as much, you should have bought a liquid cooled bike. The '07 EG classic I rented stalled 3 times in stop and go in 90 degree traffic and was like riding a furnace.
Your post isn't real brilliant, espcially as a reply to mine.
The wife and I justfinished up a 250 mile, mostly country road, 55 to 70 mph, trip on Sunday.it was around 80 degrees out. After the ride I was cleaning up the bike andnoticed that the Kuryakyn Saddle Shield on the left side has been hot enough to melt and bubble close to the exhaust heat shield. The plastic is bubbled and almost ready to drip. There is about a half inch of clearance between the two. Anyone else have this problem?
I'm going to the dealer today for my 1000 mile service. I've had both recalls, the torque smoothing download and the temperature monitoring download, the bike is completely stock at this point. Other than the additional heat, I'm very happy with this bike.
My wife has noticed that this Ultra does run quite a bit hotter on her legs than earlier year Ultra's. It's almost too uncomfortable, we have been stopping about every 45 minutes, to give her some relief from the heat. Have any of you heard the same form your wife or girlfriends?
The best thing to do is get an air filter kit, full "True Dual" pipes, PCIII, and most importantly a dyno tune. Also make sure you have each cylinder tuned individualy. I had the tunner give the rear a little more fuel in the lower range to help cooling. My bike now runs perfect and the wife no longer has complaints of burnt calfs. We went to Laughlin for the river run and our first day there washard on the wife. I took it over to the Lucas Oil Dyno in Bullhead the next morning to have all of the above changes done, and the wife thanked me. Things have been perfect since. BTW I currently have a Street Glide which is my second 07 and I can say from my experience they all have the heat problem.

My plans are to add a SE A/C and a PCIII to start with. We have owned and still own a loud bike. This one we are setting up for long trips and it's kinda nice to be able to hear at the end of a ride. Both of us have had some hearing lost over the years of riding. I would like to find somemufflers that aren't much, if any louder than stock, but give some added power. I don't want to lose any torque.
