Thanks for all the advice, I'll be picking up the new (used) 07 Ultra on Saturday. How would I tell if any of these fuelmanagement systems have been added to the bike??? the pipes and AC are visably stock.
Count me in on the RJ's , I can't say enough about them. The plastic other ones look bad , IMO. The rj's look great, an extention of the seat even, works good too: the very first mod I did and now I can ride my bike and stop it. Before, forget a stoplight , I damn near wanted to be a puss and cry, my inner thigh was about to blister after riding all day. I was so dang pissed about spending 20K for a burnt leg that I searched info about it and I found this fourm. I whet crazy and did some research and I installed the rj's and a thundermax/auto tune to richen up my bike without having to do a dyno.........BTW, that made 6th gear usable. F'n sucks to have to spend that kind of cash just to be able to enjoy a 20K $ bike, but necessary, IMO. (Dang Gov Regs)
BTW, the rjsoriginals.........I called the owner of the company before I bought the product. I wanted it to cover the exhaust more . He told me that I would be happy with them and If I wasn't that , Yes, he would custom design me a larger pair of them to cover the exhaust , but these look great as designed and it's the head temp not the exhaut pipe temp (that's what I thought)that causes the heat. I never called him back. Look at Gman's photo, my bike look likes like that. Works and Looks Great. Good People as well !
Don't forget to switch to syn oil. The engine IS that hot and it needs it, and that will help a little with the temp as well. I picked Amsoil and think they are the best , but that is a huge debate.....read other treads about oil.
