Need Help Clearing Codes
I have a 97 Road King FLHPI. I need to find out how to clear codes. The manual say to start the motor and let run for at least 30 seconds then turn off for at least 10...20 times. There has to be an easier way. ?
Disconnect the battery cable and leave it off for 15 minutes. That will clear them. However; if you don't fix what threw the code in the first place, it's just going to throw it again anyway.
Here's what the manual is saying: You throw a code and replace the bad sensor. Now after you have started and ran the bike for 20-40 times, whatever; the computer will find no fault with that sensor and clear it.
When I throw a code and replace the sensor, I just like to disconnect the battery cable and make sure the code doesn't come back.
