Arctic bagger...It is June 1st. Time to fill us in. I leave for vacation on Saturday, and have been following your situation. And, although it wont affect my vacation, I wont be around for 8-10 days, and want to know what the outcome is. Fess up!

First Off, I hope things all work out Arctic Badger.

[sm=WTFsgign.gif]My 07 Street Glide runs great, does'nt make strange noises and handles well besides being great looking. What's not to like.
Some people are not handling the upgrades the 07 recieved too well, and because a few people have complaints about the 07's, these other people (trolls I assume) have blown them all out off proportion and like to bring them up over and over again. If you look at the polls that have been done about the 07's most people think it the best bike the MOCO has built.

Again, Good Luck Arctic Badger.

Rob
Better look closer, not just a few people having issues with the 07's, andit's not just on the internet your hearing aboutthese issues. I attend alot of bike rally's and many of the 07 owners there are very disappointed with the 07's, mainly the tour bikes. EvenMOCO has admitted they have a problem with these bikes, but haven't found aremedy yet. I suggest that next time you discuss this subject that you check your numbers first. There is alot of people pi$$ed at MOCO after spending $20,000 + on a bike that runs hot, clatters, vibrates, not to mention neutral and brake issues. No one told them these items were part of the upgrade.

And the Final Solution is...

This will not be done by the end of the poll

17 People picked it right.

BUT, the wheels are in motion and it should be resolved by next week.

The agreement was made with Biker Bobs, who did not sell the bike to us. They have nothing vested wth this motorcycle other than we brought it there because it is closer to the house than American way out in Ann Arbor. American never even offered to fix the bike as far as I can tell, and the MoCo told us, in no uncertain terms, to drop dead. Biker Bobs, namley Jason Breckenridge the GM,Trey Hann the Service Manager, and Joestepped up and got us this deal:

Reimbursement of towing expenses ($225)
Reimbursement of first months payment (~210)
New '06 with limited color choice.

I told him a Black Cherry, Black Pearl, or Cobalt Blue would be the three colors I'd take, preffered in order listed. He found a Black Cherry one in Montanna, and I'm told it is on a truck to Michigan as we speak. So another 21 people were also right.

Honorable mention goes to the 54 people who picked "Get original bike back, fixed, 5 year warrentee" This was the "goodwill" offer from the MoCo. We told them that this was just about as far from goodwill as you can get, referring to it as "minimalist" and "scurrilous." After all, we have a new bike payment after we made a new bike down payment, and we want a ****** flipping new bike! The real problem I had with this offer was that this was the best they could do after 3 weeks of negotiating! Had they offered this the second day they found the problem I would've received it slightly more warmly. If they offered a new '06 by the end of the week I would be satisfied. Since nearly SIX weeks have passed since we purchased that death machine.

So the Tally is:

17 people were correct.
21 people would've been correct if things moved faster.
54 people were right about one of the offers from the MoCo but it was way too little way too late.

Biker Bobs and Jason Breckenridge get a point for stepping up on a problem others created.
American gets a 0 for selling a bad bike and passing the buck.
The MoCo gets a 0 for not caring about their customers one bit.
The Badger family will be where they should've been after 6 weeks of frusteration, anger, and a thoroughly deflated impression of Harley Davison.

So what is Biker Bobs going to do with your old bike? Repair and and sell it as used? Seems like they're going to take a big hit swapping what is essentially a damaged used bike for a new '06. I don't see why they would do this. Maybe I'm missing something.......

This is my first post on this thread and, quite frankly, I don't get the details of the outcome. How can they sell you a "new" '06 at the tail-end of the '07 model year? I would think all the new '06's would've been sold long before now, so where did it come from? Did the Moco store some new '06's for just this contingency? Do a Carfax on that "new" bike when you get it.

I find it odd that HD dropped the ball on this, and although this may have come up earlier, it seems to me the Moco is at fault since the bikes come filled with fluids before shipment. Right? If so, they should be jumping through their a$$es to make things right. I voted for "New '07, no addition cost" because this would've been the least they could do to mitigate an appalling breakdown of service to the customer. I think this is an anomaly, frankly, or at least I would like to think it is.

I can only assume the Moco is picking up the tab for all of this.

Arctic is right. Only a few compared to the thousands out there that have happy smiling faces sitting on top of their 07. I couldn't be happier with mine. Feel bad for the few that don't like their 07.

I for one am happy with my 07...of course I have put in about 2000 in aftermarket stuff to get it to run "right"...but then again I would have done those things anyway...

Moco has really dropped the ball on most of the 07 issues. I have gotten nothing but run around and stonewalling from the "customer service" people about the rattling and 5th gear noise....I have had to find my own fixes...just as well. I now doALL of my own service and have learned a great deal about my motorcycle that i may not have learned had I not had these problems. I am more knowledgable and I am saving an A$$load of money. So it worked out for me.

I really don't understand how in the world they could have found an '06 either. I also would have much rather had an '07. Mine runs fantastic and I wouldn't trade it for anything! I think you are just "snake bit" after your experience and I don't blame you but the '07's are fantastic.

Wait a minute, guys. I never said I didn't want an 07. Quite the opposite is true. The wife and I were going to pick up an 07 this upcoming winter. The only reason we bought this 06 was the price and the "lets do it now while the summer is young" attitude.

I went so far as to demand an 07! That was met with "you can get an 07 for $3500 more bucks" I came back with "I'll give you 1k, 500 of that from the discount on the 06 because the bags were in terrible condition, 400 because thats the difference between the two MSRPs, the rest just to roundup to show you that I'm not stingy". They came back with "ok, 2k more then" which I shined on because that would put the base price of the bike OVER MSRP!

I would've never turned down an 07, and I would have a much much higher opinion had I been offered o ne.
