Decatted vs. new headpipe
What is going to be the difference in sound putting on decatted head pipe with rinehart 4inch slip-ons or going with a new V&H or fuelmoto head pipe? I'd rather not spend that much if it is going to do basically the same thing.

I had a defatted stock head pipe on a 2011 SG with Kerker slip ons. Had 204 cams in it and it sounded great and performed well. Had an S&S tuned header on my 12 FLHTK and Monster Rounds. Maybe not apples to apples but for a $500 savings I would decat the stock header if I had it to do over again if it were not for NC laws. Here in NC you can change to a non-cat head pipe but if you remove the cat from the stock head pipe and get caught they will not pass inspection and it's a $3,500 fine. Just might want to check your states law.

Just decat your header will not sound any different than after market header just lighter wallet.also will not be much difference in power between your decatted header and aftermarket unless you are talking about a 120 or 124 or bigger.

I went with a Fullsac Performance Sport Pipe... It's a stock pipe de-catted and modified with the proper 15° cone for scavenging. I noticed it was slightly louder without the cat and a little deeper tone... $399 09-16
O2 cross talk not an issue because they leave that part of the pipe intact with the divider.

I won't waste money on headers unless it's a true 2 into one. I decatted my header put fullsac baffles into the CVO slipon's 350 total investment. Not concerned with crosstalk the bungs are before the cavity and one pipe extends into it. Sounds great. Runs great.
