Oil Leak?

Oil Leak?
My 2010 FLHTC 17,000 mi. is leaking some oil under crank case. I can't see where it might be coming from above. Wiped everything off last night going to wait and look at again later. First thought was oil filter but it's clean around it. I serviced all three fluids in spring and never noticed anything on floor until now, several spots, oil down about 6-8 oz. I don't see any sending/switch units leaking except MAYBE one that I can't find in SB, it's under the crank case timing sensor (not sure of name) kind of below shifter on left, front of crank case. It was a little oily but not real wet.
Any ideas.

The wire (s) going to the regulator from the front of the primary case are the stator wires. They are known to be a leak point.
The HD approved repair is to replace the stator. Several hundred dollars for the part , more for the labor.
The shade tree/work around fix is to THROUGHLY clean and degrease the wires where they exit the primary. The better this step is done, the better the the results will be. Next completely dry the wires/area. Next get some black silicone and completely fill the exit area including all around the wires. And finally, let the silicone sit undisturbed for at least 24 hours to cure.
Do a search, there are many threads on this subject in the fourm.

I had the leaking stator plug wires a couple of years ago. I tried the silicone to no avail. Finally replaced the stator (a perfectly good electrical device no less) as I could not stand the leak.
In my opinion, HD has a lot of engineering flaws on their machines. This is one of the glaring ones.
