Your right Bingee, we went for a 70 ride yesterday and it hadn't even started to run down primary, just wet circle around grommet. So just a nuisance at this point. I'll keep it clean, if that's a pain I'll try and seal it.

Not too difficult job to repair. Get a service manual! Case the work req'd. Get proper tools - impact drive for the outer/inner primary. Yes, the stator needs to be replaced. The comp, clutch and primary drive need to be removed. Be careful of the starter - manually pulling on the pinion will engage it and take off your fingers-lift the neg battery terminal for safety!

There's no need to replace his stator. It's fine. The grommet needs sealing. That's all. BTW replacing a stator is not really an easy job.
