2017 suspension compatible with 14-16 Rushmore's?
1. The Racetech / Ricor only alter comprssion damping. They do so by adding second speed spring loaded valving and the Ricor has an additional third speed sensing valve. They do not alter rebound valving. It is still single speed.
2. The M8 forks look to have 2 speed valving on both compression and rebound damping circuits.
3. The only additional adjustment Racetech provides second speed compression damping..
4. If the new damper follows the usual production methods for the system as previous HD forks, you won't be able to get to the guts.. It's likely the mechanism is held in place by rolling the end of the tube over. Might be able to cut the rolled edge off and thread or snap ring groove the inside but that will be a bit of work..
As far as which one is better? I think there are some interesting features on the HD system.. I wouldn't say they are not as good until I'd had some time playing with it. The HD has the potential of being close to catridge for in performance tho I'd concede, not as good as the better cartridges fer sure. It may fare pretty good compared to Racetechs.. I've used Racetech and like them but a good cartridge fork is still better..
