I recently something about removing the left side of the plastic thigh protector on the bikes. then the right side will help scoop air to the left and push the heat out on the left. This would be ideal while moving at turnpike speeds. I had my left hand down my calf/wife's leg and was amazed at the heat down there.

I've heard of doing this. The theory is that the two shields prevent air flow behind the rear cylinder. Removing one of them will allow cooler air to pass through. ....and you can't see both sides at once.

I've used one of those on both of my last two Road Kings. Not sure how to properly measure if they made a difference or not. I didn't see how it could not help though.

I did this, removed the left side. Then my left thigh started warming up bad so I removed the right side too and left them both off. I originally installed when had the cat in place. Have since removed and never considered removing the mid frame deflectors but it makes sense now to keep off to keep rear cyclinder cooler. I dont notice much heat now unless prolonged stops

I look at items like this and I think to myself "ya know self, if gizmos like this really worked as well as the marketing company says, then the MOCO would already have grabbed it up and they would be selling it for $129.00".
I did see one of these in a parking lot a couple of months ago. It is made out of heavy gauge, clear plastic of some sort.
