Default 16' RGS Windshields.

I'm looking to get slightly better wind protection so I can hear tunes at higher speeds. Stock shield and I'm done at 40~45mph. I really like the Klock Werks sport flare 9" but the 14"would probably be better. I'm 5'9" with the stock seat or a sundowner. Would I be looking through the 14" and does the 9" offer much over the stock shield?

Thanks, Bob.

To me, the Klock Werks looks too narrow at the top to give better wind protection. The Freedom Shield looks to be a better option. I'm not a fan of all the curves on KW shields.

I think this would give more wind protection

I like the Freedom Sport Tour Better, just wish they had pics of the different sizes mounted for perspective. Guess I like curves but that's what makes the world go round. Thanks!

I haven't tried the Klockwerks on my RGS, but I had one on my previous bike. I'm 5'9" and have a 13 inch Freedom Shield. The Freedom Shield is wider at the top, so it deflects more wind so there is less turbulence. Also, the recurve causes no distortion.

Before you make a choice, I suggest going to your dealer and demo'g the 12" Windsplitter. Costs you nothing, you may like it (I do) or you may come away with a better I idea on the height you need.

I have a 15RGS and I'm running a 14" Klockwerks Sportflare. I'm also 5'10 and I'm able to still see over the top of the shield. If I slouch down i end up looking through the shield partially but it's never caused me any issues. Never tried the Freedom shields so I can't compare. All I can say is I like the looks of the KW and wind protection it offers. I don't get any helmet buffering and after a long ride I can see all bugs/ debris that would've caught me square in the kisser had I been running a shorter shield so I'm definitely gonna stick with it for now

I have the Klockwerks Pro-Touring Flare in the 12" variety. I am 5'10" and look over the top. It also is not as swoopy as the Sport Flare which I prefer. I can hear the stereo at 80mph now

I have the 14 inch sport flare on my RGS. Love it. I'm 5-10. Lose my music at 70-75. Wear a3/4 helmet. I'm on a RGU loaner now. My KW is better than the stock RGU shield.
