This winter I plan on changing the stock handlebars for the extended reach bars. As everything seems to be these days I'm sure it's not an easy swap. Has anyone been down this road before? Does the wiring harnesses along with the clutch cable need to be replaced? What other things are needed to replaced?
If you are referring to the Harley bars, their catalog has a table that shows you if you need longer wires or cables.
For the reduced reach bars, 56166-08, you don't need a new clutch cable and Stock length wiring is adequate if externally routing switch-wires. 70198-07 req’d if internally routing switch-wires
Not sure but someone on here did a great write up on swapping bars. It was the heritage style but at least you can see a pic by pic description of what you need to do.
I am going to change my 2012 SG bars to KhromeWerks 2 + 2 Narrow bars. I found several threads of similar installs to guide me when I am ready to do mine.
Good Luck!
