I love the FP3 on my 2015. I agree that it is sad that a HD Dealership would say bad things about the tuners. The FP3 is fantastic! Flash a map and run a couple of auto-tune sessions and you're done. If you decide to do more work, you update the map. Simple. I've had the Power Vision on my last bike. After using both, I prefer the FP3. Also the FP3 is about 40% cheaper.
I've looked at power commander, V&H, power vision, fuelmoto, etc, but my trusted parts guy at the dealer tells me they've had a lot of trouble with aftermarket tuners on the 15's & 16's and don't sell them any more.
Your "trusted" parts guy at the dealer is extremely uneducated. The phrase "You know nothing John Snow" comes to mind.
Aftermarket tuners such as the Power Vision and FP3 are the simplest tuners you will find. Personally been running a FP3 on my 14 Breakout for 2+ years with 0 issues and the bike has NEVER been to a tuner/dyno, even after I installed cams. Set up the tuner for your application, flash it, maybe run auto-tune for a bit or just roll with the canned map. DONE.
imo opinion(free take it for what its worth) tuning not mediatory for slip-on and intake for the rushmores, the new intake on the rushmore isn't much of a restriction like the older bikes. but a tuner will improve the response run smoother and make more of a performance boost than the slip-ons and intake.
