Default Replace exhaust port gaskets?

Hey everyone, I'm going to be going from stock to a 2-1 Bassani RR b4 pipe. Is it recommended that I change my exhaust port gaskets? I will be tuning with the fp3 and throwing on a ness big sucker aswell. Thanks for any input.

Changing head pipes, definitely use new gaskets.

go to autozone and rent the wheel bearing race installer. lightly grease the opening and the gasket... no need to freeze them but I wouldn't hurt... and slip the gasket over the race installer and walk that beast right in. Best advice I could have ever received in reference to installing the gaskets!

You should always change the gaskets, cant go wrong.

But, the new pipes have a flat flange where the oem is tapered. that means the new pipes will seal on the gasket in a very different manner than the oem pipe does, so you will find no issue re-using the gasket or replacing the gasket for that matter.

For sure,OEM taper gaskets are a one time use when used with a flat flange, thats because the flat flange badly distorts it as it pushes into it.

Do not use the original equipment H-D exhaust gaskets. They will be nearly impossible to install and are restrictive. Use the Screamin Eagle gaskets which are basically a ring. No restriction and easy to install and can be re-used (I have done it). They will work no matter the shape of the exhaust pipe.

I've had the exact opposite advice! Each to their own.

Always use factory stock exhaust gaskets.
