Well the replies are coming from people not in AZ. I switch to Amsoil 60W around late May and switch back to Amsoil 20-50 in late Oct, Nov.

I ride 40 miles nearly every day and follow the manual, much less engine noise.

Well, I use 'oil' in my bike's engine.
I change the 'oil' in my bike's engine when needed.
I use whatever 'oil' I want.

I suggest everybody else use whatever 'oil' they want to..............

AND THIS IS RELATED TO THIS THREAD BECAUSE IT HAS TO DO WITH OIL AND WHAT WAS POSTED HERE ABOUT SOMEONE TRYING TO IMPROVE THEIR MOTORS HOT OIL PRESSURE BY INSTALLING HEAVIER 20-60 GRADE OIL WHICH IS A BANDAID FIX @ BEST.

I AM JUST WONDERING WHY GUYS THAT HAVE AN HD SHOWING LOWER OIL PRESSURE (OR OTHER NEGATIVE HEAT RELATED ENGINE PERF ISSUES OR RIDER COMFORT COMPLAINTS) IN SUMMER HEAT THAT BOTHERING THEM ENOUGH TO TRY HEAVIER OIL TO IMPROVE OIL PRESSURE IN SUMMER HEAT DON'T SIMPLY ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSE WHICH IS THE "EXCESSIVE HEAT " THEIR AIR COOLED HD'S PRODUCE IN SUMMER HEAT THAT WILL RESULT IN MANY (5-6) GREAT BENEFITS RIGHT OFF THE BAT?
pretty sure this was directed at me, so i'll answer it. first off, I don't consider it a 'band aid'. if you look at the owner's manual for oil recommendations, there is more in there than just 20w-50. in fact, based on our ambient air temps, hd actually does recommend a 60 weight oil. using the multi viscosity oil gives you the benefit of good cold start flow, and the higher weight in the heat. so while you may see it as a Band-Aid, I see it as actually following hd's recommendations... (tomatoe, tomato) also, I have to admit, the higher oil pressure is probably mostly in my head anyway. oh, sure, it is a little higher, but does it need to be? makes me feel good anyway.

otherwise, my bike, even though it is a 110, is not suffering from too much heat. I haven't done it in a while, but last time I measured my oil temp, it was around 230*. and since I don't suffer with stop and go traffic near as much as some of y'all, I don't feel the wards fans are necessary.

By yourself a dipstick with a temp gauge and maybe a oil cooler if you don;t already have one and monitor the oil temp for a while to get a average

The two big advantages to syn oils are higher heat protection, and better protection with "Cold Start Scuffing", which accounts for lots of wear issues. I use various viscosities of syn oils in every engine I own - weedeaters, mowers, trucks, cars, you name it - syn oil is in it. Some of the Road King's old engine oil makes it to my chain saw for bar oil - great stuff!

Does Mobil 1 sell 60? (rhetorical). The reason I ask is your OP is pointing out if you should follow the manual and go with 60 over coolest temps over 80. If you don't go Amsoil I think you need to go conventional to get 60.

To each his own just confused on your change on the thread.
