I have too do some research to see if I can find any info about the speedo relocation. From looking at the photo in the 2014 Police catalog it appears that the indicator lights for the turn signals are still on the tank console, just below what is now the tach.

The beauty of Harleys is everything can be swapped around with a little ingenuity. It looks like the cop speedo (or tach) mounts to the handlebar clamp similar to your FXD or at least a Sportster. Why not get a speedo from one of the other models that mount there? The mounting bracket will have holes for all the indicator lights including turn signals. The electrical part may be difficult as the computer controls the speedo and odometer and will probably freak out if it thinks it's hooked up to a sportster speedo!
A tank lift (front only) might work to put the speedo in your peripheral vision. You only need to see the relative position of the speedo needle in your peripheral vision to know your speed...fine details are not necessary. This is a cheap/easy fix and will help you keep your eyes on the road.
I did a 2" tank lift on a '04 Fat Boy I once had (see attached pics). The lift was just enough to spot the speedo while riding. The other benefit was rocker covers were easier to clean, more air to top of motor, and folks couldn't figure out why my FB looked different in a good way until I pointed out the lift.
I'm considering a 1.5-2" lift for my '14 Road King for the same reasons. I've seen 3" lift kits, but that's too high in my opinion. I want the lift for the stated benefits without it being too obvious the lift was done. See attached pic I downloaded of a member's RG model with a 2" lift. DK Customs and others make the lift kits, or you can make it yourself to your custom height with some metal stock, drill, grinder, paint and hardware. More info and pics on the net and this forum if you search.
My speedo is the digital one with a needle tach on top an digital readout on the bottom. The tank lift idea is a good one but I go 200 miles between stops when traveling. In my experience the fuel capacity is reduced; is that right?
I'm going to study the thread where he put everything up on the clamp. It looks like some work but the finished product is worth it.
Did not know that. I was wondering why the web site was a little jacked up. I only wear a bucket when traveling so i don't really keep up on them. Tnx for the info though.
