No way a phone call gets what's needed. Rep should have made you measure based on sitting on bike. That said, when it was my first mod attempt to control the air, didnt solve much. I needed the fork fangs and center plate to solve. I then was able to dial back the height of windshield. Started at 12" and was able to go down to 9" after shock change and visual preferences
We need more details such as your height, what bike? What research went into the purchase? Slamming a vendor with little detail is not helping anyone. I went with a 12" Klock Werks Pro-Tour. I don't get direct wind like I did with the stock shield, and can hear the stereo at over 80mph. But there is still a bit of blowing around my face.
Ive had 4 or 5 LRS shields over the years and Ive always had good results. Follow the directions, function over form. I think a lot of people go with too short of a shield because they think they look cool, only to gripe about poor performance later. Right now Ive got one of their flat tops mounted, wife could tell right away that it was moving wind around her. Very happy with LRS.
I am about 5'10.5" tall, i measured out to a 10" shield, which is about an inch below line of sight, perfect for me, wind not so bad for me , but passenger gets it, 8 inch seems short, unless you are a shorter person, i also ride a limited. Ive been mostly happy with mine, but thinking about a flat top for her on back
I bought an 8 in. dark tinted recurve windshield from LRS.I asked the salesman if the 8 in. recurve windshield would keep the wind off the wife and he said yes..I bought the windshield.. We ride an ultra classic limited..
The 8 inch. shield doesn't even keep the wind off of me and definitely does not keep the wind off my wife..
We are very disappointed in their salesmanship. There also wasn't much of a recurve on the windshield..
I will look elsewhere for the next shield.
You can't put all the blame on them when the instuctions are all over there web site on how to measure for the right height. I just bought a Stingray from them for my RGS and they were very helpful and patient answering all my questions.
For a good part of the blame look in the mirror because no matter where you buy from if YOU give the wrong info YOU will get the wrong fit!!!
Get in the game!
