The GEL molds to your butt AFTER a while. So unless your riding for hours it's not going to get soft enough to do anything but make your *** hurt. And it doesn't breath. there's a foam with gel beads that alot of companies use that works well.
There's several threads on gel seats to give you more insight. Personally, I paid around 200 dollars for an insert in 2014 and wouldn't go without one. Before I'd feel discomfort after 3-4 hours of riding. Now I can ride 10+ hours and feel great.
Ive been to Corbin many times even sat and talked to Mike, never heard of gel being offered on a Corbin seat. But love Corbin and C&C seats, both comfortable for all day rides and Im older with back issues. Never had a problem with either. But my seat choice always depends on my copilot.

I sold the gel equipped seat it seemed hotter and less comfortable after a few hundred miles
Had my C&C Sport Tour seat recovered with a gel insert, what everyone else already said about gel is VERY true and it also raises the height of the seat...
Absolutely LOVE mine
Rode to Sturgis this year and after about 3 hours of being in the saddle it became uncomfortable and had to stop often.
Had a gel insert placed in my seat while I was there. What a difference it made. The trip home was way more enjoyable. I also have an Alaska Leather sheepskin cover on my seat that takes care of any temp problems.
i think there are more than one gel option. the gel from alligator bob never ever absorbs hot or cold to my experience two different bike 50k miles. also alligator bob lowered the seat on my CVO and added gel and i was down and inch or two lower. he calls his product pro pad i believe.
I tried a gel seat once - just once - to each their own but not for me
My experience is it gets HARD over time and is worse than not having it.
I finally concluded the factory stock seats are fine for me. Usually in two to three years I replace with a new. I have found I can check dealerships and they will have like new take offs that they will sell for as little as $75.00. Wish I had the money back I spent on C & C, Mustang, Danny Gray and others.
