I have a 2014 CVO ultra with 38000 miles and had an exhaust valve get stuck and take out a number of things, when they opened up the motor they said it looked like it was run low on oil for an extended time due to all the worn parts. They replaced lifters, adjustable push rods, oil pump, added a second oil bypass valve and tensioners, with better parts and CNC heads. Now the oil pressure is 18 at idle and 59 running down the road. After 100 miles or so it blew the seal on the oil filter on startup, they thought it was just a bad gasket so a new filter was installed and the test ride was 28 miles with no problems but when I went to go home for the night it blew again within a block. Any thoughts? The shop has done this build many times prior and said it hasnt had any problems.
Well personally I think thats a lot of oil pressure to begin with but the valve in the cam plate could be sticking and causing excess pressure, I had one do that and since your pressure is high anyways it may be going to high on startup.
About 5 lbs over at idle hot. Way way over at speed. No telling what cold pressure is. The 35 relief is not letting it bypass. They probably modified it. You are running oil thru oil injectors at the cylinder base at idle which a TC should not do. If you live in a hot climate, this will cook oil if bike idles a lot in stop in go traffic. Fix the by-pass spring and be sure to bottom a Harley filter almost metal to metal if you insist on running all that oil pressure.
If you were running on the drag strip?? Maybe.

Although I don't have a CVO, I do have a '14 Limited. After 75,000 miles, I have never seen the Oil Pressure display lower that 11 PSI nor higher than 38 PSI. 99% of the time, the maximum oil pressure is 36 PSI. That is using Syn3 20W-50 and running down the road when the bike/oil is cold. The normal hot oil pressures are 11-13 @ idle & 29-31 @ highway speeds. It sounds like 59 PSI is way above normal and that is what is causing your problems.
