Fender install question
The 4 side holes for the mounting double threaded nuts are elongated while the old fender ones are round to fit the mounting hardware.
The other slight difference is that the old fender had some sort of welded stud or posts (5) under it where plastic clip tabs would snap on and hold the harness going to the taillights. The new fender does not have said studs, and there is no other provision to hold the harness in place and keep it from sagging down on the tire.
The question is, how does one keep the harness in place and beat gravity? Would Gorilla tape be enough or is there a trick for this?
Chances of my bike seeing or riding in the rain are slim to none.
In the attached pic you can see the studs I am talking about.
Thanks in advance!!!!
to preserve the wiring I ran new wiring to the back- I used wire left over from a flat 4 trailer wiring kit...so 4 wires bonded side by each rather than a bundle.
I slathered silicone to the wiring and 'glued' it to the inside edge of the fender- on the side, rather than the top- cause occasionally my tire might lightly bottom on the fender.
it's been like that for over 25 years now

Mike
