Default Ignition Lock Help Please

Swapped out the handle bars on my 2010 Ultra today. Went pretty smooth up till I had to put the ignition lock back in. I have a service manual, but can not locate how to line this back up. Anybody experience this problem?

check the videos on youtube for an overview of the problem

the solution is to either not turn the bars or to use an alignment tool such as squarshed 1/4" copper tubing... too late for that now

this is common and we have all done it once or twice

if you look at the knobbys on the ignition stem, you will see that they are not shaped the same- look into the cavity and you'll see if your switch cams need to be turned, you can turn one at a time to align with a screwdriver

you may want to pull your maxi fuse while you do this

I see that there is an alignment tool listed in the service manual, just trying to see if I could get back together tonight. Thanks

Had the same problem recently. Found the answer here on forums. This place is the greatest.

All you need is a medium to large straight blade screwdriver and a flashlight. Look down in there, use screwdriver to realign and insert ignition switch. Took me two tries to get lined up. No need for any special tools.

Ok.....its in!
Just like the advise above,,,,get a light and look at what needs to be moved. Just was getting a little frustrated after spending about 8 hours today to swap out bars!
Thanks for the help everybody.
