Cam upgrade
I have a good relationship with my dealer, but that doesn't matter. If you want to install cams that are not SE cams, they shouldn't have a problem with you supplying your own. Next, I would find out who's the best wrench in that shop to do the work. In other words, someone that has done dozens of cam installs without comebacks. As for the 4 hours labor, that's what it pays.
So add the cams......$220 plus the labor and parts needed to do the cam install at the dealer $525.........you come up at $745.00. Keep in mind, the $525 was my out the door price.....tax n all.

Do yourself a favor and get the Woods 222's or Andrews 48's for low end but the 222's have great Mid as well. Here is a dyno that I posted awhile back from a friends bike. Cat removed, RC mufflers and AN ac, tuned with a power vision bought liscence for that. If he had 2.25" baffles it would be better or a 2-n-1.
$200 – Adjustable Push Rods
$125 – S&S Standard lifters
$60 – Inner cam bearings gaskets etc.
So $635 in parts. Then labor (should be around 4 hours) and then either a dyno with your SE tuner if they will tune outside the EPA regs or Tuner with dyno or download.
103" H.O. has the better cam in it. I always thought that just putting a mild Andrews 48 or whatever would be crazy. MHO.
Wouldn't a 555 or bigger with some added compression and a dyno tune really wake his bike up, vs a little bump.
I just couldn't do it any less.

My head is where yours is in that I wouldn't bother with just cams in a rushmore. I would do the heads as well. With the increased flow and the ability to bump the compression would be worth it. The HO 103 does not run bad at all.
I'm thinking of doing a cam upgrade on my 14 Ultra Classic.
what would be a good cam for good torque and hp?
I already have a stage 1 setup with the V&H header and breather and pipes. As well as a Screaming Eagle tuner.
im thinking of dumping the tuner for a TTS or FP3 or maybe even the Thundermax.
a local shop has quoted me 1300 for their setup and a second shop was doing the oil pump as well and going to be 2500. Seems a bit high but not sure what everyone else is paying.
thanks!

Whatever you decide, cams are an upgrade I have ZERO regret doing. The difference in stage 1 is unbelievable. As for the tune, I bought the FP3, had V&H send me a custom tune, and am in the process of an auto-tune now. There are many different opinions here on tuners. I'm happy with mine, and that's all that matters. Good luck with whatever you decide!

By the way, forget the Thunder max and the fp3, either use a Power Vision dealer or TTS tuner. With the power vision you can buy a license for say $150 and get it tuned, thats a pretty good deal if you ask me.
Not worth "just a cam" change in a Rushmore.
With what you have and on a Ultra add......
Rivera game changer and a PV license (use one of your friends PV) to correct gear ratios.
Less than $400 total.
Less than two hours total install in the garage.
