If your doing cam's and tuner (Only) then stick with something that will give a bit more low end with mid range bump.A lot of these guys start saying other things than what you requested and thats all well and good but I'm trying to steer you in the right direction on what I know works. The 57 cam likes at least 10.1 comp to make it work good and needs
10.3 to make it shine. The 222's from woods
are more expensive than andrews but they are a souped up version of the SE 204's which imo was one of the best SE cams to date. The 222's along with a good tune and exhaust with 2.25" baffles, such as some of the Rineharts, will give you pleanty of low end grunt and gains in the mid-range dept as well. All of this with out head work and a comp. bump.
By the way, forget the Thunder max and the fp3, either use a Power Vision dealer or TTS tuner. With the power vision you can buy a license for say $150 and get it tuned, thats a pretty good deal if you ask me.
installed the 57H with no head work. I couldn't be happier

The 57H worked great for my stock 103". Great accel through all gears and RPM ranges. Flattens out around 5700rpm

Should be finishing up 57H cam upgrade soon, can't wait until weather breaks here in S.E. PA. Have my fingers crossed as we had a very mild winter so far!

If I were you I would call Vance & Hines if you got mostly their product the new FP3 is fantastic and the can tell you what combination they would recommend. I did that and used the matching cams they recommended and my bike runs great. Btw if you haven't yet get rid of you cat in the head pipe
Did it change the sound of your idle? I wouldn't mind a bit of a lump to mine when im waiting at a light.
yes.....I got a great loping awesome idle after warmup. Remember, after going to stage 2......cams, and pull-push more air, the tune is the key. I sent a request to V&H, got a fast reply from Cheyne. He sent me a custom tune after stage 1 and 2. Working on my auto tune now from my stage 2 base map. V&H did a great job. Once you marry the fp3 to the bike, you send your vin to them. They can upload you a tune in seconds after it's built. You will have to send them the specs on the cams. Lift/duration specs that is......Very happy with the entire process!

I'll agree, it does work good until you ride one that has the comp. bumped up to 10.3, then you will be pulling the heads off. Thats what happened to me, I was fine until my friend had his bumped up a bit and the game changer installed, then I had to do mine but I went a bit further. Also I don't care if you have the FP3, TTS, Power Vision etc., if it's not been dyno tuned then you've left something on the table, bottom line. You may be fine with what you have but I'm just stating facts, enjoy !

I agree that if you don't check you don't know but really what could you be leaving on the table with a canned tune thats proven (not a shot in the dark) vs a dyno tune? 1HP? 3? Maybe nothing and where I am I honestly couldn't tell you where I would go to get a bike dynoed.

Canned tunes are not truly optimized for both fuel air and timing. They are safe tunes.
The dealer pulled that crap with my 204's when I bought my 09. They put a canned map in it and said that they dyno tuned it. Pinged when it was hot and had maybe less than optimum fuel. I took to where harleytuner works and they got 10 more ft/lbs of torque out of it in the mid-range. The peak numbers didn't change all that much but the curve and rideabllity of the bike was very different.
