Lessons Learned from a Newbie Wrench...
Here is what I learned.
Removing the outer fairing with the advice on this forum was easy...
The screws holding the stock speakers in were freakin tight! But instalation of the new ones was easy.
Replacing the fairing went well but as noted in previous posts it is very easy to cross thread those copper inserts... gotta be patient.
Removing the seat was easy.
Getting the battery out of that tiny little hole is a royal PIA! Damn! And you can't undo the ground nut unless you get the battery up out of that freakin hole!
Putting the seat back on was another pain. Getting the back of the seat to line up with the mounting screw hole is tricky business. I had the tongue inserted properly but trying to get that bolt back in is tough unless you have long, wirey fingers.
All i all a good day. I think I could remove that fairing much quicker now that I know what I am doing. And I will have to do so soon because my Zumo showed up today!!!
