Lol my 12 twin cam has had 50 w straight weight Dino oil in it since new. No break in and run hard 5000 miles between oil changes. Never touches a drop but I only put 3 quarts in at oil changes 54,000 miles now. Think u get good and bad. Still check it all the time but never put any in it between. Now if it wasn't such a crappy sounding motor I'd love it.

I should say the worst motor that HD built. If u run quiet mufflers the damn thing sounds like click clack clatter ole solid lifter mg motor Lol. All the old ones...evo shovel pan ran so much nicer. Rocker shafts ,twin cams and extra crap banging around just a noisy crappy motor. But there's hope with the new ones ...haven't gotten my hands on one yet...we will see. Oh and not knocking the twink performance.....but sure as hell cant listen to one with syn oil in it..lmao
not really if you put miles on. I have tried them in a few twinks.....ok if u only go 1-2 k a year. Couple ones I did and pulled apart later at like 18k-24k were just as noisy and a waste if time to do The thin little shim is only a quick crutch if up get it in rite to begin with.I have drilled and locked the shafts down with Allen screws and it quiets them down. But motor never was one of the better designs.
It performs ok.Just never was and never will be a quality piece.
