Have a friend who lives in another state. He has a 2013 Street Glide. He added the engine guard lights from Cirius. He bought the Harley part to connect under the seat and be controlled by the AUX switch. However if he plugs it in. It is on all the time. Switch does nothing. At first they were dim. He was told to flip the plug in. One side is 6VDC the other is 12 VDC. Neither works with the switch. At that point it was bright but still no response from switch? Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks
6volts on the off position would indicate a short.
He called the dealer was told the same plug works on 12 or 6 VDC. I do not believe he has a meter. I will try to make a trip and test it. Where is the plug that is connected to the AUX switch on the dash board?
He's got it wired wrong. The AUX plug under the seat has 4 wires...ignition hot, switched hot, brake hot, and ground. He just has it wired wrong.
What he said above. There is no 6volt source in the plug. Are you sure he is using the right plug, there are several in the same area by the battery.
