I had a catless header with 2.5 baffles and it was a nightmare to get it tuned correctly....if you remove the cat Rush recommends 2.0 baffles for no cat.....since I changed them the PV tune they loaded and a few auto tunes run and now it's golden...changing from 2.5 to 2.0 hardly did anything to the exhaust note...it actually sounds better, a bit lower growl and no drone at cruising, no decal pop.....I also installed a Cobra PowerPorts system, great exhaust...with that change it definitely reduced the leg burning effect on the right side, my GF says the rear heat is almost gone completely.....

I've got 2.5" baffles in my BL's on my 2007 RK (no cat head pipe). I had no idea I had no packing material in them until I bought material and went to repackage them. Yes, you read that right. Lol.

After repacking with 2 layers of fiber material the pipes sound crisper with more clear bark on accel. They probably are a little less loud overall but the only way I can tell is that I can hear my radio a little better. Otherwise, it sounds the same (but better, like I said).

I can't imagine running 3" with no cat. There'd be no back pressure and I think the bike would perform horribly.

This, For every engine/tube configuration, Rush has a "recommended" baffle size. Call them. It worked for me.
