Your running wires through inside of bars with clip on extensions and the clips come disconnected. Now you have the extension stuck halfway through the bars with no string attached? What would you do?

See if you can get another string through with a shop vac and tie something like a small washer to it and see if you can fish it out???

didnt think of using a shop vac but I'll give it a try tomorrow morning. I've tried using fish tape and I've tried using compressed air. When it broke off there was a string hooked to it pretty tight but I believe it's trying to turn around inside the tube when I pulled on it. Finally pulled too hard and the string broke.
If this doesnt work work can I throw some heat inside the bars to melt them or will that mess up the chrome?

LOL, I wouldn't try that but they're your bars. Try a coat hanger with a little hook bent in the end and see if you can't latch on to the wire somehow.
Did you use shrink tubing over the extension connections?

I think I'd try some silicone spray before heat
Maybe a small fish hook on some heavy test line and the spray..
I'm imagining that there is a connector in there since you said the connection came unclipped.
May be able to catch that.
Might mess up your extensions somewhat but your kinda committed at this point

I honestly don't care about the extension at this point. I should have cut and soldered in the first place. I did try a fish hook on the fish tape but it didn't work. I don't think it was getting far enough and was just bumping the bottom side of hook. Will a shop vac pull fishing line pretty good? I'm so frustrated with it, If I knew I wouldn't mess the chrome up I would have already stuck a torch head up in there. I've also been using wd40 for lube and electrical tape to pull everything tight together

Try the shop vac and see what you can get through. I've never tried it with fishing line personally.
Maybe walk away tonight..
I think you'll get it out if your persistent.
Easy to get frustrated and compound your problem.
Maybe try pushing it thru with the coat hanger from the top?

If you do end up going the fire storm route, wrap the bars in some wet rags before.
Might not get hot enough in there to discolor your chrome before you melt the insulation and connectors
Thanks Fuzzy. I'll try a coat hanger in the morning. I just have doubts because the fish tape has a hook on it as well and it was just trying to push but wouldn't. Really wish I would have just cut and soldered in the first place. Torch will be last resort but if it comes to that, I'll wrap in wet towels like you said
