Glad to hear your brother was not seriously injured ('course, it depends on what you call serous). Could have been a lot worse though.
And damn, the bike! I'd get a good attorney and be sure your bro gets a new one plus some hefty spending money. You can give HER the one with the frame damage.
I agree with what everyone else said -- she left the scene of an accident and she should be charged accordingly. I'd think your attorney should be able to make the case.
Good luck, Bad, and best wishes for a speedy recovery to your brother.
As far as I know she received no charges not even for the accident. I am new to Texas so I am not sure if this is a no fault state or not but I am unaware of any charges. I think the cops came to exchange their insurance info, cause they sure didnt do much else.....Dont get me wrong I respect LEO's and have many LEO's back home that are good friends but I think someone wasnt doing their job here...Just my opinion I guess.
At least tihe bike took the worst of it, sounds like your brother will heal up. It just takes time, I still have intermittant problems with my left hip due to a similar experience 8 years ago. I never expect any cage to do what they should!!![:@]

She's not married to a state senator or rep or mayor or chief of police or . . . is she? Just doesn't sound right to me.
And like Ron White says, Texas is the state that's put in an "express lane" for those on death row.
I'm originally from Louisiana, and Texas isn't known for being easy on criminals. Then again, maybe you guys were just some "bad bikers." [:@]
Make a complaint to the officers Captain to see if the situation can be reviewed and a charge of "leaving thescene of an accident with injuries" can be added before the case goes to court. It sounds like she should have been charged and arrested for fleeing an accident with injuries. There is a big difference where I come from with regard to "with injuries".
Am hen Brother. If there was injuries, then she should get the book. Even if there wasn't, leaving the scene here in PA is more than a wrist slap. [:@][:@][:@]
good advice....so glad he's still with us....good job on chasing her down....a well placed letter to the mayor, Police Cheif, EVERY city councilman, and EVERY NEWS station as well as your local congressman from your power attorney should get some attention and serve as an educational upgrade to the officers training

Call out the PD and Raise Hell. SHe hit someone and left the scene, thats no excuse for her or them. Pull the phone out of her Azz and she could have called 911 and stopped, but she left the scene. Start with Sergeant then work your way up. SHE should be chaged with Leaving the scene of an accident that had damage and injuries. Let me know if you needed the statue looked up I will grap my TX motor vehilce laws book from locker at the station.
Jeff

I found the statute and sent it to you, let me know if I can help anymore. I am off all week but chasing the little ones. I am on a mission to replace the screws on my windshield. I lost one on the last leg of our trip home.
