If I go with wild pig slip ons only, can I get away without a fuel management? They have 1.75 baffles factory in them, so that is what I will have. I am trying to get away until I can order Vance and hines headpipes and Thundermax autotune in the next few months. If it will hurt anything, I wont do it. Basically I'm asking, what are you guys running and are you having problems? Thanks. By the way, 07 Elec Glide Classic.
It is my understanding that if you go with "certain" mufflers only, you don't need any fuel management units added or a SERT download. When I asked about installing my V&H oval slip ons, I was told I *should* add the high flow air cleaner, *and* the Fuel Pak. I have seen people add the SE (Super trapp) muffler only to their bike, and they get more sound, but not much more than that.
I figure, if I'm going through the expense of adding new mufflers for better performance, I might as well go the rest of the upgrade with the high flow air filter and the fuel management as well!
It's kinda like putting a condom on your woody and then just staring at it, without even bothering to go the rest of the way!![:-]
Yeah, all revved up and no place to go! HAHAHAHAHAHA.
I asked my local dealer the same question re: Wild Pigs. He said you can go to the 2.00 with no remap, but any further will require the download. I opted for the KN and slip ons at the same time .. and the download.
like everyone else says, if you're just adding slip-ons, you probably don't have to re-map. however, have read a few posts where '07s running lean, ran even leaner with just slip-ons. I'd go with them, but keep an eye on the AFR via looking at how the plugs are burning (showing white).
