Try riding in a sidecar sometime. It's not a good ride. Very uncomfortable.

I have two old Russian Urals (50 and 42 years old), my wife loves the crap out of them. She also loves riding in general and is often the one to hit me up for a trip (I ride everyday it's not raining here in Houston).

Look at getting a new Ural, not too expensive and pretty cool in their own right.

My wife refers to the back seat as the 2nd wife seat. Outside of the fact that she couldn't be less interested in riding, her theory is that its wise for the children not to have 2 dead parents. She's an amazing woman in every single other way, so not complaining. I look at it this way, the bike is me time only, all good in that regard.

(as an example, I was dreading telling her I wanted a new bike, when I did, she didnt even bat an eyelash - "so get a new bike!". She has never once given me a hard time about my bikes, and I've never felt I needed her permission, but she puts up with a lot of my craziness)

Penguin.....have taken that same route to the Parkway, live about 1 hour from Bevard. From there you can go many directions and have great rides. My wife we not ride with me any longer and we have agreed that is fine. She rode in our younger years, I am now 60 on a Road Glide. She really stopped riding about 5-7 years ago when we had a Street Glide. But as you said in a previous post, both you and her are good with this. My wife and are. I have my time on the bike and she has her time at playing bingo. We both win.......

I've never really understood how we, as riders, can put so much time, effort and money into finding a perfect seat and expect our loved ones to cling to us while balancing on that tiny pillion seat with no backrest for hours at a time.

My wife loves the Tour Pak on the RK with the arm rests. There is no way she will ride with a sissy bar ever again. Might be a solution for you.

My wife of 36 years loves to ride. We bought the Limited with 2-up riding in mind. Most of the upgrades have been focused on comfort/convenience for both of us. They include LRS windshield, passenger arm rests, sheepskin seat cover, in-helmet Bluetooth communicators with the Sena Freewire modules allowing us both to enjoy the Boom audio system. I want her with me so I focus on her comfort.

My lovely wife has me all jammed up. I want a Special because I like style over function. My wife likes to ride with me one day a year (4th of July), so I have to get the Ultra. Shesh!

Mrs. Beary doesn't enjoy motorcycles because of the feeling of speed in the open air (she doesn't like my convertibles either. Hair). I can't imagine her sitting a few inches off the ground in a side car at 65 mph.

Man, I sure would like a Special.
