Keeping Windhshield in place

Keeping Windhshield in place
I have a 15" Freedom Shield on my 2014 Limited.
No matter how tight I make the 3 fairing screws, the windshield creeps upward at highway speed, exposing the top of the mounting holes and the scuffed area of the shield that is normally below the top edge of the fairing.
I'm thinking of adding tape to both sides of the windshield to give the fairing a better surface to grip against.
Anyone tried this or have a suggestion as to the type of tape, i.e. electrical tape, masking tape, etc?
thanks
brian

I would run out to Canadian Tire and pick up a roll of the 1/2" or 3/4" Velcro that comes with adhesive backing tape. Apply only the smooth half not the prickly to the base of the windshield on the front side only so that the smooth felt-like surface of the Velcro tape rubs up behind the back side of the outer fairing. That should provide the extra hold you are looking for. Be careful not to tighten the 3 windshield screws beyond just snug as they only thread into brass inserts. Snug is more than sufficient. Maybe this will work for you good luck!

Freedom Shields
I too have a Freedom Shield for my Road Glide. Their windshields are thick enough that they don't conform to the gaskets easily. I am also having some work done to the front of my glide and when finished, I will mount the windshield.
I tried to find a way to fit it and no matter what I tied, there was a gap at the bottom in the middle. I thought about foam tape or a heat gun or anything else that might make it work. One day it came to me to use a car windshield install putty/adhesive.
It will remain pliable with age, can be made water tight, and will conform to both the w/s and the gasket.
Some guys will ask "why don't you get a windshield that fits the bike ?" I personally think this w/s is worth it because it is optically clear (no distortion), and is thick enough to protect me from many heavy objects I might encounter.

I have a different model, 2012 limited. I had the same problem, so what i ended up doing to going to the dealer and buying 3 inserts for the screws to go into. Maybe the new fairings have these already. Then I bought some door weather stripping that is peel and stick on one side, 1/2". I used that between the fairing and the windshield and the problem stopped.
