I just installed 412 HDuty springs, 12'' -ers on my 04 RKC to drop the bike 1". I weigh about 215-220 full dressed in gear and have them on the softest setting.
I find them good to quite good. ymmv.
And whether you are gonna be 2up with luggage. I put mine on and left the driveway and knew they werent enough shock for my 240 pound a## and a passenger and a tour pak. Sent them back and got some 944 shocks and the handling and load capacity of the bike are better than stock air shocks. Its like a new more refined motorcycle.
If I was strictly solo I might get away with the 412's, but most people with touring bikes arent in that position. I can see where some lighter bikes and riders would love them.
+1 on the 944s. WAY better than stock - much more smooth.
I put the 412's standard 12" on my UC last week mainly for the one inch drop. Helps me touch the ground but ride is about what I got with the stock shocks. Setting is on low. Thinking I'll just spend the big money and do both ends with something high end.
