Default 2012 RK Throttle Sticking

When releasing the throttle grip, it does not go back to the idle position. I have to manually twist the grip. I have not changed anything, such as the bars, grips, or anything connected.

How do I resolve?

Thank you.

You gotta star wheel on the housing at the throttle?

My 13 has tbw and you need a little slack in the grip for it to work. Did it get bumped and bind? Loosen the housing and adjust the grip.

To amplify Ben's suggestion, the twist grip should have a little in and out play, tug on it as if you wanted to pull it off the bar then push it back in. There should be a little movement. If not, the switch box has gotten pushed too far toward the center of the handle bar making the grip bind. Loosening the screws that hold the brake lever and switch box on the handle bar and moving the assembly slightly outboard should give you the play you need and unbind the twist grip. If you already have the in and out play, you might have a problem in the throttle position sensor or something actually binding the grip on the handle bar. Removing the grip involves splitting the switch box and opens up the possibility of breaking the little button on the front brake light switch. If you don't have a manual, check youtube for the procedure to protect the brake light switch. If you have ridden in the rain or washed the bike with a hose or auto high pressure washer there may even be rust on the bar inside the grip causing the binding.

if you use krapkin grips, some of them had a problem with the inner teeth breaking loose jamming the throttle

pull off grip and inspect.

insure that he throttle sensor moves smoothly and evenly

then reinstall as above
