Not that it was really a problem. I installed a permacap this morning, then gave it a 150 mile audition. No problems what so ever. 13 bucks on eBay . Worth every penny IMO. Might even put one on my truck.
P.S. The Captain Itch Crotch Cooler is also worth every penny, works very very well. Bought mine from another member, but still looks great.
I bought that RickRack gas cap magnet. It cost like $12 or something and people were up in arms about charging that much for a magnet. Ehh.... I've paid a helluva lot more for less things so the convenience of being able to just set my cap right in front of me on my ignition switch while I fuel is worth it to me.
Cozz---Is that Permacap originally made for a Corvette, and who manufactures it ? ?
I think it was advertised as fitting a corvette. It supposedly will replace any screw in gas cap. I thought permacap was the manufacturer, but I'll check the package tomorrow.

Engineered to the highest specifications in compliance with the strictest of environmental regulatory requirements. Fits all vehicles with a screw-on style fuel cap; for both domestic and import cars and trucks.

What exactly is the problem this cap is the solution for?
