I think it's a neat idea but I hate how these touring bikes get full for just a second and then gurgle down. My 2010 Ultra Classic was bad about that but my 2023 Ultra Limited is TERRIBLE about that. It will fill up, gurgle down, fill up, gurgle down....
If I play with it enough I can get in another half gallon. Might not seem like much but that's over 20 miles range. If they made a doodad that would stop that I'd gladly buy one.
I bought one after seeing this thread, got it more for the Jeep than the bike (I'm another one who likes to get that last 3 drips in there after rocking the bike a few times). Bought it and of course a Wrangler is one of the few vehicles it doesn't fit... Wife's car came with this style filler and I thought it was weird at first but it's grown on me. Oh well, maybe I'll try it on the bike for the heck of it.
** Update ** So I filed the offending edge to clear the spring. Works now.
I did try to alignment the cap. Oh well!!
Mine arrives today, and it looks like I'll have the same problem on my SG. I can't see where you filed any material away in your picture, it must not have been much, eh?

It was not very much. Less than 1/8th of an inch. I used a belt sander and not even 5 seconds on the belt sander. Then I removed the "melted plastic" with a razor knife.
I did see that the "spring" left a line on the cap and that what I used to determine how much to remove.

I want to see pics, and hear your impressions after the first fill up. I can be convinced!
