It's sure to stand out. Don't remember ever seeing that color.

Yes! The color is unique. I like it! So what was the story.....how does it only have 79 miles? Interesting story bet. Great find!

would love to find something like that.....but all I can find is the barn and it's usually falling down on itself.

PO was a farmer and acquired a barn full and I do mean full of equipment , Tractors , welders ,lathes , compressors and just about anything else you can think of. I guess kind of a hoarder. Anyway he passed and the widow is selling everything and the bike was buried uncovered under a lot of junk. I bought it through a friend of theirs and didn't ask any questions, just wanted the buy. I have to get keys and was wondering if anyone knew if I gave the serial number to Harley if they would be able to make a key?

Re: keys....that might be the way to go or it might be easier to use a locksmith or just get replacement parts. Used or NOS OEM parts might be available on eBay or other sources, or you might be able to source aftermarket parts as well. The ignition switch should be no problem. The saddleback keys might be a bit more...mmm...challenging.

Funny how this thread went from being an invasion by a troll to actually being of use, and interesting!

the front tire in the picture isn't the tire that was original equipment in 71. with only 79 miles on it i doubt that the original front had to be replaced.

Bagga , I question that also. Other items aren't right either. Welded on heel shifter, after market (realistic) radio . Still pretty much original but will find out more as I go along. Stored away right now as its riding time but is going to be a winter project.
