Ok, I had a 65 ironhead Sportster for years. Loved the bike but it sounded like a sewing machine, then I built a 74 shovelhead and it was quieter, sort of. Bought a 2003 Road king classic and a big difference but still annoying little sounds. Yup its a Harley, I can accept that but why do some click and clang and bang and tick and others don't? So every chance I get when I'm board I start looking at things chasing the ghost I'll never catch. Well today I caught one. The shifter rod from the pedal to the transmission arm. There are little swivels where the bolts go through to hold them on so they are allowed to pivot slightly. Guess what, running down the road they vibrate and sound a lot like ticking. Put a little Vaseline on the pivots and squeezed it in and guess what? I would say 1 third of the annoying noises coming from down that side of the motor is gone. Who would have thought?

BWAHAHA. That's freaking funny.
I am fed up with my sewing machine. I don't know how much longer I can take it. I have your product on my list for when I do a cam change. I figure while it's down that I may as well get it all done. More power and less noise. Now if I can figure out how to get rid of that gas cap cover rattle.
I put your Rockouts in this weekend while I had the rocker boxes off to fix a small oil leak. Haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but I have high hopes. The fairing and lowers bounce all that noise right back in your face!

Some folks use the small furniture felt pads with sticky backs, Walmart sells a sheet of them in different sizes from coin size to pencil eraser size. On the base, or bottom of the fuel door, practically invisible.
