Default Best Whitewall Tire?

I have a 2014 RK with stock spokes. It has about 11,000 miles on the factory Dunlop 402 & 407. I seem to be happy with them although i have nothing to compare them to since this is my first HD. I am having a hard time finding the rear D407 180-65b16 in a wide white wall. I would be willing to switch brands if the reviews were abundant enough to warrant a change. Where have you guys found the best prices? The stealership wants $829.55 So I hung up and jumped on the interweb with no luck. I did a search here but that was hit and miss. Any thoughts?

Check other Dealer prices, you can do better than that.
I roll with the HD Dunlops WWW, never a problem.

Dunlop makes a American Elite. I have had great luck with them. On my 3rd. set of tires @ 36,000mi. I get about 15k out of each pair.

I have run American Elites with really good tire life and no real complaints. The rear lasted 12K when I changed it but it had another 2-4K left in it but the front cupped on me. I wanted to try a little softer compound and put a set of Metzeler 888s on the '09 King. They have been really good, with excellent wet traction and they seem to wear well. I believe the WWWs on the Metzlers clean up easier than the American Elites. I bought at Dennis Kirk for less than $400.00. Throw in some new tubes, rubber strips and a couple of bottles of Ride On plus mounting then you're back on the road with new shoes for less than $600. One thing, check your bearings while you have the wheels off.

Dunlop American Elites or Metzler 888's. When looking at the Metzler's make sure you you don't confuse them with the Metz 880. Many riders are reporting these Dunlops are getting them 20K miles on their FL's. Dennis Kirk and Jake Wilson stock both brands with fresh date codes and best price.

Good point on checking those bearings. If there stock,i wouldn't check them.I would just pop those out and replace.bearings are cheap, bearing failure is expensive and could be deadly.Stock harley sealed bearings are prone to early failure.

Avon Cobras are great. They don't follow grooves in the pavement all and stick like flypaper. Very quiet too.
