Default Scraping floorboards - no give

Finally finished installing Alloy-Art's Touring XR Stabilizer. Went for a test ride, brought it up to 90 on the Atlantic City Expressway, slight headwind, bike was steady as a rock! Then Looked for some curves, unbelievable how much confidence this stabilizer exudes! Extremely stable in the twisties! Very happy! only trade off is a little more vibration when going through the gears.
OK, here's the real reason for this post.
The bike leans so good that I am now scraping the floor boards, even making a turn at 20 mph! Well, I just realized that my floorboards don't retract. Never realized it before 'cause I wasn't cornering as hard prior to the Touring XR.
First bike I ever noticed with no retractable boards. Is there an adapter or something that Icould install to make them flip up?
Isn't it dangerous for them to be stationary?

Check the 2 bolts that hold the boards on. If you overtighten the lock nut they won't fold up. Don't ask me how I know.

You are not scraping the footboards themselves, you are scraping the bracket that supports them. These brackets can be raised by undoing 2 bolts on the right side and 3 bolts on the left side. The adjustment is about .5 - .75".

It was definitly the floor boards. I can see the scratches but thanks for the advice. Every bit counts.

They've got to flip up unless the bolts holding them are overtightened.

Ok here's a pic of said nut I spoke of. I'll tell you that I've scraped my floor boards enough to know that they do flip up when you hear that scraping sound in a tight turn. My foot raising up is the sign.

Bryan, thanks for the pic. I'm going out to the garage to check it out.
Are they spring loaded like most floorboards?

Hey No problem, took a pic for you cause it's just easier to show than try and tell. When I bought my 99 last year I had the same problem, boards would not move. I took the bolts out and freed em up a bit, corroded and years of road dirt on them. When i put them back together got the lock nuts a little too tight. Just had to back them off a hair so the would pivot.

Streetrunner, they're not spring loaded, just bolted like Bryan's pic.

Just noticed something. Look at the pic, about 2-3 inches up from the pen pointing at the nut. You can see the raised ribs on the bottom of the board are really shiny out at the end. I scrape em. Did I mention just how great Metzler tires are over the Duncraps? Yep my mistake, that was another thread.
