12V accessory wiring question

First post on the forum..great info and it has helped me significantly in the past just as a lurker..do have a question though about the accessory wire (orange one) on a 2001 Road King Police..I am in process of hooking up satellite radio (SIRIUS ST-4 Starmate Replay) using the Directed Electronics Install Kit made for Sirius..pretty complete if anyone needs it..and using UniqueCycle amplified speakers (similar to Motorcycletunes, etc. setups)..both the power for the radio and the power for the speakers need a switched 12V source..for where I will locate the radio and the amp, the ignition switch is relative proximity to both. I do not have a fairing on my bike so it is handlebars and headlights with a tach in the middle..can I just remove the panel on the tank and access the orange accesory wire from that ignition switch or is it best to pull headlight and access from there..just looking for the simplest way to run two separate wires to the orange accessory wire..any comments appreciated..I was thinking the tank panel simply because you can turn the ignition to the left and get aux type power so assuming the orange wire runs there..
