Couldn't find a screw the right size, so I drilled a hole in the plastic slightly smaller than a finishing nail I found. With this configuration, the head sticks out a couple mm and works perfectly. Brake light works and cruise control sets. It's not having a "rev" issue, but I'm wondering if that is because I'm testing on a lift with no resistance. Now when I set the cruise, it revs quickly and shuts off.
Have you checked for codes?
The CC light doesn't come on at all or just won't go green? If not at all start with fuses.
If it just wont engage then some of the things it could be are, brakes not releasing, brake lights remaining on, bad roll off switch, speed sensor, no signal from tach, bad switches/controls, wiring problems, loose or corroded connectors among others.
The FSM has a complete troubleshooting guide or I'm sure you could find it on YouTube
I'm having a similar problem but my cruise light does not come on at all when pressing the on/off button. I know the light works because I can perform the throttle roll off function and the cruise light will alluminate amber and green both. I have checked the brake and clutch levers and none appear to be sticking.
2006 Ultra cruise will not engage. When I turn ignition on the cc light is green until I hit break lever , or resume button and turn red. Only turn green when I first turn ignition on. Any Ideas?
Hi all with the same issue I was having of the cruise control would not set. I went through all the tests to check my cruse control system and I had a code that told me it was my set/resume switch. after trying to order a switch with no success because they are on back order I decided to spray my switch with electrical contact cleaner I saturated it several times working the switch for 5 minutes or so and letting it sit for a day in between sprays and working the switch then it started working again but it was spuratic at first but I kept spraying it and working the switch. I am pleased to say that it's working perfectly now, I don't know if this will help you or not but with the set/resume switch being $70+ and on back order it's definitely worth a try . For me it was a no cost fix because I already had the electrical contact cleaner. I hope this helps, Good Luck William
