I did the below diag procedure and all worked except for the brake steps...I didn't get a green light with either brake pressed. It went back to red and stayed on. For starters it won't even work with the roll-off switch plugged in! Cables are adjusted, but I don't hear the engine rev during the cable lash initialization, but the lights work correctly. I need help!!
Ignition off
switch cruise ON
Hold cruise SET to SET position and switch ignition ON
Green light should come on.
Hold cruise RESUME to RESUME and green light should come on
Release RESUME and hit FRONT Brake, green light should come on
Hit Rear Brake and HOLD for 5 sec, green light should come on
Most of the time the cruise drops out is due to the brakes, lights will flicker.
Have a buddy drive behind you and watch.
Adjust or replace switch as needed.
My cruise was recently acting up on me. It would disengage and not resume. The problem was a conflict with my PCV. I needed to Uncheck the Harley ECM box in the configuration steps of the PCV. It's been working flawlessly since.
