On my way home today on a two lane highway with posted limit of 55 (I'm doing 60) some yahoo is on my ***. He gets impatient and decides to pass. What the F he didn't see the two bikes heading in the opposite direction with full headlights and aux lights as bright as day? I started to pull off on the bicycle lane so not to be caught up in this. Good news is all ended without incident. This was no blue haired senior citizen who shouldn't be driving, it was a young punk *** kid. Fifteen minutes later another A-Hole right behind me. If I pull out the concealed I go to jail. We need state, federal, and NRA protection backing that if someone in a 4 wheel vehicle may do you harm by their actions, you may take what ever action necessary to protect yourself. I'm not one to give up easy, but it's so dam dangerous on the road you get to thinking about it.
3 weeks ago on my way to work on I95 in Left HOV lane, A HOLE in SUV behind me at 70MPH gets impatient because I'm slowing for stopped traffic ahead. JACKWEED passed me on the FREAKIN shoulder at 65MPH only to come to a stop in front of me a few hundred yards down the HWY...WTF???? He should be VERY happy that I am a "mostly" rational person and I kept the 9MM in my pocket!!!!!
I have to say that I have driven in Florida & the extremes between the gray hairs & the crazies is very scary I live in NY & it is bad here But Fl & Mass are the worst imhp - oh yeah Conn is shi--y too!!
I think the point was more to the fact that as a responsible gun owner/Concealed carrier, I did not loose my cool, I didn't even say anything to the Idiot. My point was,.. that others may not have been so rational, and that as riders we all have to be VERY careful out there. SO lighten up Francis!!!
Well, NHTSA stats for 2011 (don't think '12 stats are out yet) state that FL has the second highest fatality rate for motorcyclist across the U.S., TX is #1.
That said, I can understand the rage and would like to believe the OP is simply venting. How many times have any of us said or thought things with zero intent of following through? I wouldn't have put it out here, but that's just me and I'm surely not judging, not my place.
We all have a story that could have (or did) end poorly due to an errant cager. Sometimes due to them being an idiot and sometimes we're simply invisible.
And we've seen street justice handed out for dangerous driving, all drivers/riders, not just cagers. Think the message is, folks have to beware, the rider they're pushing may be that person. Problem is, the aggressive cagers that need to hear it are not reading it here.
Let's not forget we hand out our own "moves" sometimes that put us in harm's way and tick the cagers. Not the case in this thread, but sometimes we do.
