Hello,
I have done some searching around on the net but am not finding anything on it. The other day I had to lift my tank up and it got me to wondering. Can the tank console/panel, not sure what exactly it's called, be completely removed from the tank? Not just remove and reinstall, I am wondering if I can completely do away with it. I can't quite remember what all was under there besides the overflow hose (I'm assuming that's what it was anyway), but I think the bike would look cool with all that console gone. I'm guessing I would need a different gas cap. Anyone know anything about this?
Thanks in advance for your input and info.
The following photo is of my tank, with the top plate in place, showing the filler cap neck plus the connector for electrics and fitting for the overflow hose. This was a trial fit for my carb bike, hence no electrics! As you can see it is much better if hidden - no beauty is present.....
You may not be able to eliminate the console but there are several custom ones that can change/minimize the look.
