I've seen two of my bikes roll on the kickstand and they both stayed upright on the stand, one went forward, the other went backwards. Trust me when I tell you, HD makes the best kickstand in the industry.
Trust it, it's a quality design and works very well.
I do roll the bike forward and back by habit, just to make sure it's locked in.
Never had one fail on me!
Be careful if you stand the bike up off the stand and move it that the stand stays in the locked position.
I did just that to get the tire valve in a location to check tire pressure. With pressure off of the stand, it moved out of the locked position. You can guess what happened next.
I feel the same way about my kick stand on my 2012 FLHTK. Found there is a guy that makes a different part for the stand that makes it open about 10 further forward. Works great and makes my head happy when I park. It flicks it way open like my other bagger (RIP) did. Was about 10.00 and really easy to put on. I found it mentioned on here, but my Google Fu is failing me now.
