Air Cleaner
So, with that disclosure, I humbly offer to you my tidbit of knowledge on the subject. If you change mufflers for better sound, you get better sound. If you then add a high performance air cleaner ( ala Screaming Eagle ), you get MORE AIR coming IN, and with the higher output flow mufflers you first put on,
you get an engine that is now flowing MORE air FASTER IN and OUT! Can you say now MUCH LEANER RUNNING?
NOW, you don't have a choice left. YOU HAVE to add some type of FUEL management system to your new machine configuration or run the risk of overheating and a complete engine meltdown.
I.E. , Pipes by themselves don't force you to buy a PCV. An air cleaner by itself doesn't force a PCV purchase. It's the COMBINATION of new pipes and new air cleaner, which causes a higher INFLOW of air, along with the new pipes that produce a higher OUTFLOW of air, that causes you to HAVE to add the fuel management to produce a higher flow of FUEL intake to level out the proper air/fuel ratio needed.
Make sense?
The stock Harley air cleaner flows more air then a stock Harley motor can draw. Putting on a "high performance" air cleaner will NOT cause the motor to pull more air. In fact, no air cleaner at all will not cause the stock motor to flow more air.
Now if other mods to include intake throat, head, valve, piston, and exhaust are done then one should look at an air cleaner that will provide the necessary flow.

Now, that being said, there are much better looking ones out there than stock - especially if you want to go coverless.

Because you do have a Power Commander you can add an aftermarket Air Cleaner, if you want to.
If you want to keep the stock AC, you can add a K&N Air Filter to the stock AC housing to help out
with air flow.
Since you are adding true duals, and getting rid of the Catalytic Converter, which will cut down on
the heat from the exhaust. That will be a plus for you & your passenger.
