Default Lower Fairing Speakers value?

How much do the lower fairing speakers help with sound? Big improvement to the rider and passenger? Just the rider? I'm talking just the factory batwing and adding the lower speakers, without the rear saddlebag speakers.

I am wondering as well. I have heard that the speakers in the bags really only help passenger. Makes me think that speakers in the lowers should help the rider

They are definitely a huge improvement for the rider. I never have a passenger, so I can't speak for them, but I know everyone I ride with can hear them too, so, I'm sure it would be an improvement for the passenger. I do have an aftermarket amp and speakers.

What model amp/speakers? Did you replace the stock speakers too, or just aftermarket lower speakers?

The audio section of the forum is the best place for answers about this. The gurus can set you up with a budget minded system that will rock.

Here's what I did on my SG:

Amp:

Wiring Kit:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Speakers:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then I had the dealership reflash the HU to 8 speakers, amp 1 and amp 2 off to get rid of the internal amp and processing. Huge improvement over stock, and when I added lowers a year later, the amp was capable of adding two more of the same speakers. It is very clear, and so loud I have never turned it up to max volume (with the 4 speakers). This was based on recs I got from the Audio forum, and it has served me and several others well.

What he said! Wife won't ride anymore but folks around me can hear it fine. JL 4channel amp with Polk 6.5" in fairing and JL 6.5 components in lowers with CVO speaker pods for the last few years, But there are latest and greatest options in the audio section.

Lower fairing speakers are much better than lid speakers. I've had both and I would much rather spent the money on having 4 speakers upfront than 2 upfront and 2 rear.

I have both and the the lowers is what I would go with if I had to chose between lowers and saddlebags speakers again.
